Does Going Green Mean You Need To Change Your Lifestyle?

Often when we are changing things in our lives we think that there is going to be more stress because we will have to be changing our existing habits.

The beauty of going green does not mean that you need to be making dramatic changes to your lifestyle overnight and this makes it so easy to do.  Like any change it pays to take small steps to effecting the change and that means that you might just start by doing something as simple as having separate waste bins for your trash.  It is such a simple but important step for reducing your carbon footprint.

With your diet it is a good idea if you just work on one area at a time so that the whole process does not become overwhelming.  You might for example, decide to look at all the sauces that you use for cooking and putting on your meals.  By checking the ingredients of these you will decide to keep some and may decide to make some of your own if you cannot find good alternatives.

Then you might decide to look at your meat and see what improvements you can make in your meat selection or alternatives to meat, and after that your vegetables by going organic, or you may even decide to start growing some of your basic vegetables yourself.  If you do decide to grow some of your own you may decide to have your own compost and recycle your food scraps.

Over time all these little steps will have impacted your life quite a lot and you will be getting the beneficial effects of living a green existence.
